Unity Is Not An Option
1 Cor. 12: 25, 26.
There should be no schism in the body. Whether one member suffers all suffer, whether one member be honoured all rejoice. KJV.
God having a set plan that every member of his body, would look to each other with mutual concern, that there would be no division amongst us, in as much as if any member suffers, all suffer and if any is honoured all rejoice together.
Lets look at this from a physical standpoint. If a person cuts their hand, the glory of the entire body, loses its perfected identity of wholeness, because one member of the body has fallen from the glory of its entire fullness: but once the cut heals, the entire body is restored again to wholeness, and the glory of its former state. (Rom 8: 30)
In the same way if a person is honoured their whole body is honoured every part of the physical structure is honoured, because each part together forms the one body. Their hand, feet, eyes, ear, all are membered together in one. All are joined together in perfect wholeness, (1Cor 12:21) and each member supports the entire physical structure.
This is accomplished through the foundational work of the backbone which connects the entire body to the head.
So it is also with the spiritual body, the one body of Jesus Christ, whereby all people globally who have accepted him as Lord and Saviour, become the structure of a spiritual body, which is sustained by the headship of Jesus Christ, who is the head and backbone, (chief cornerstone) (Eph:2:20-22), of the entire spiritual body: Us being his lively stones (1Pet. 2:5-7) that build up the entire spiritual structure through him. (Tabernacle, house, the one universal nation of God.) For in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and we as his body are complete in him. (Col 2: 9-10).
Unity then becomes the seal of perfect love.
(Psalm 133: 1-3) Behold how good and how pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity. It is like the precious ointment upon one’s head, that runs down to the chin and anoints the entire body into the priesthood of Melchizedek- our unity in Christ; that ushers in the freshness of the dew of a new day, called today. Wherein the Lord engrafts us into the blessing of life, even life forever more.
How good and how pleasant it is for us to step into the light of the miraculous, where we see each other as we see ourselves, and see ourselves as those who manifest Christ in the earth. The resurrected son, our portion, who has manifested Yahweh, our supreme Father of all creation, our eternal portion, who has made us living stones in Christ Jesus (1Pet 2: 4-5); that build up his spiritual tabernacle. The church of the living God.
How can unity not have it’s portion within such a great structure as this? Its only optional thread is love.
Within every attainable virtue, whether humility, patience, kindness, justice or fortitude; Love is the substance that binds it all together in perfect unity. (Col 3:14-15). The Lord has positioned us to be united together as members of his one body, in the unity of his spirit and in the bond of peace. (Eph:4:2,3).
Strength in unity:
There is strength in unity, yet greater strength in number, when we as the body of Christ are united as one.
Father can equip one person alone who stands in the unity of relationship with him to conquer an opposing situation. For example: legions of evil may target a person in an effort to destroy his or her relationship with God, but God can use one person to over throw such evil (Jos:23: 10-11) even as David was used to defeat the legion of evil defiance that dwelled within Goliath.
Yet when David went forth as the leader of his armies, hundreds of thousands were defeated through the strength of Godly unity.
When the body of Christ stand unified as one in understanding and agreement, victory over evil becomes inevitable. (Lev: 26:8). As we wield the sword of his word;
And when the body of Christ moves unified in Godly love impossibilities become nullified.
(1 Cor. 12:25: 26)
There should be no schisms in the body, whether one member suffers, all suffer as one. Whether one member be honoured, all rejoice in one.
There is no separation.
(1Cor 1:10) I appeal to you brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of us agree together so that there will be no divisions amongst us and that we may be perfectly united together in mind, thought and spirit.
Unity brothers and sisters is certainly not an option.
