God’s Word Never Fails
Focus scripture: Luke 1:37
For with God nothing will be impossible (NKJ).
For the word of God will never fail (NIV)
The word of God is filled with prophecy, a foretold story and there is account after account demonstrating God’s unfailing word. As I contemplate, and ponder, I’m drawn to question…Why did God leave His word? John tells us that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh (John 1:1,14). Christ said that He must go so that the helper may come. (John 16:7) The Amplified bible locates the benefits of the Helper whom is Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor Counsellor and our Strengthener. The Helper is the Holy Spirit of God. The teacher and revealer of all truth, who will communicate future things to come. (John 14:26; John 16:13).
So Why did God leave His Word? His word was left for our benefit out of His great depth of love for us. The Word in the form of text and the Word which is God Himself in the form of His Spirit. The Word is a witness, a foretelling of truth serving as a testimony that can strengthen us in our walk. The Word is multifaceted, serving for instruction, as a template manual to encourage our perseverance through hope. The Word, the Spirit of God is transformative, casting light into darkness, drawing all whom may be called into the Potters hand. That we too may walk confidently as children of God speaking not our own words, but the Words of the Father in Heaven as revealed through His Holy Spirit.
Father God Almighty loves us dearly, He wants us to be successful. He loves us so much that He didn’t put the burden of restriction upon us. He gave us freedom, he gave us a right to choose. That is a privilege withheld even from many earthly parents to their earthly children.
What a treasure we have in Christ Jesus. What a treasure we have in the Word of God. He is the only living God with eyes to see and ears to hear. He is the only God whose word will never be returned void. God is not human that He should lie. It is my prayer that we grow to completely trust in the Word and in the Presence of the Lord our God. Jesus Christ is Lord of all. He is the Creator whose word never faileth. His Word will come to pass at the appointed time.
Do you love Him, do you love Him completely and truly. Do you love Him, sacrificially, with all your heart. Christ said if you love me you will keep my commandments. Christ said to take delight for he will give us the desires your heart.
Christ wants us to be whole, complete, unbroken unashamed and indeed, in Him we are all theses things and more.
The word of God is so beautiful, it is not just a book, it is a Holy companion. It is a witness and it is God’s word declared aforetime. Jesus spoke to His disciples after the resurrection reminding them that everything written about Him in the Scriptures (the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms) must be fulfilled. My dear Brothers and Sisters the word of God must be fulfilled. God’s word will not fail.
Can you imagine being a follower of Christ, seeing Him on the cross, seeing Him die and be buried. Then seeing Him alive again. I dare you to dwell, I dare you to consider, I dare you to ponder. I dare you to ask. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you, that His truth may be revealed and expressed thrpugh our lives. God’s word never fails and when we draw back upon Luke 1, the chapter in which the focus scripture has been taken there is a continuous foretelling then unfolding of God’s unfailing word.
In brief the scripture speaks of a baron mother, a doubting father, an answered prayer, a willing servant, a divine Messenger, and the birth of two cousins, a forerunner who will prepare the way for the Holy One who will be called the son of God.
Luke 1 tells, Elizabeth conceived although she and her husband were well advanced in years. Mary was overshadowed by the power of the Highest to birth the Son of God, and the angelic messenger Gabriel declared, “For with God nothing will be impossible”.
We see within this chapter, as we do with in the Book of Life, our Holy Bible, a constant foretelling. The Word of God and the assured unveiling of His unfailing Word.
Foretelling Luke 1 :14 - the Angel tells Zacharias that you will have joy and gladness and many will rejoice in the birth of John
Unfailing word Luke 1: 57, 58 - Birth of John’ Elizabeth brought forth a son. Her neighbours and relatives heard that the Lord had shown His great mercy toward her, and they were rejoicing with her.
Forefelling Luke 1 :15 – He will be filled with the Holy Spirit from His mother’s womb
Unfailing word- Luke 1: 41– tells us it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 Blessed is she who [h]believed, for there will be a fulfilment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
Foretelling Luke 1 :16 - and he, speaking of John will turn many of the children of Isreal to the Lord their God 17 and he being John, will also go before Him, the messiah in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and disobedient to the wisdom of the just to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
Unfailing word –This foretelling was unfolded as captured with in the gospels. John prepared the way for the Messiah bring many to repentance and baptising them in the Jordon River.
Foretelling- Luke 1: 18-19 – telling us how Zacharias, the husband of Elizabeth and father to be of John, doubted, he did not believe the word of God sent by the angel Gabriel and he was muted. Verse 20 states but behold, you will be mute and not be able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which I will fulfil in their time. Verse 18 says that Elizabeth will bare you a son and his name shall be John, this was the word sent forth from God
Unfailing word -Luke 1 :59-6 - Back in those days first born males were called by their fathers name. as such when Elizabeth gave birth the child would have been named Zacharias after his father. Elizabeth rejected saying his name would be John. So they sort after Zacharias as to what the child shall be named. Zacharias wrote on the tablet saying his name shall be John, and the books tells they were all marvelled. Then immediately Zacharias was able to speak and he began to praise God
God’s word never fails. The Angel said that Zacharias would be mute until these things take place. Zacharias tongue did not return when the baby was born. He was not able to speak until after he named the child John according to the Word of God sent the Messenger.
Indeed, God’s word never fails, and it will never be returned void. So, what has God promised you.

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
My dear brothers and sisters, Let us sit with these truths, Let us speak them, declare them, and let us confidently trust in the Lord. Let us endure and abide, preparing ourselves to receive, for every word of God will be fulfilled in its time. God's word never fails.
All glory, honor and praise be to Father God Almighty
In the mighty name of Jesus.
